Harrison Burns, LCSW

Hello! My name is Harrison, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and the Owner of Soul Summit Therapy. My path to becoming a therapist has been quite unique, which allows me to approach therapy with a deep sense of compassion and understanding. It was actually my personal therapist who encouraged me to pursue this profession, highlighting my potential as a clinician.

I primarily work with adults, utilizing a client-centered approach that incorporates various therapeutic modalities. I have training and experience in EMDR, DBT, Motivational Interviewing, IFS, Mindfulness, and trauma-based approaches. I am committed to continually expanding my knowledge to better support my clients.

A significant focus of my practice is on young adults aged 18 to 35, as I believe this age group is often underserved. The transition to adulthood can be challenging, and many feel the pressure of “now that you’re 18, figure it out.” Our world does not always adequately prepare us for these challenges, which fuels my passion for supporting this population.

In therapy, I prioritize building a strong rapport with my clients and facilitating progress toward their goals. I work collaboratively to help individuals develop skills and strategies to face daily challenges, as well as address more complex diagnoses and past traumas.

My background includes growing up in the Bay Area of California, where I earned my degree in Environmental Studies from UC Santa Cruz. In 2015, I relocated to Utah to explore new fields of work, and I have been embraced by this vibrant community for over ten years now. In my free time, I enjoy skiing in the winter, climbing in the summer, and pursuing travel adventures with my partner, along with our two dogs, two cats, and our bearded dragon.

I welcome everyone into my office and look forward to learning about you and supporting you through life's ups and downs.
